Hey I'm Sonal! And if you've read this far, you're probably in the right place.

I was a carer from aged 8, with a violent childhood until 23. I set up my first business at 19 and ended up running three.

I had wonderful parents growing up, but we had a very tough situation at home, one that lasted for over 15 years. Everyone was under huge emotional stress and just wanted someone to take it away from them, including me.

That’s when my people-pleasing and need for validation truly set in and spread to every aspect of my life - friends, family, work - you name it.

I felt guilty just about thinking of saying NO, let alone saying it. I had played out the worst scenarios that COULD happen in my head. That was enough to say yes. Every time.

It became a given that I would do what I could to help others, and it eventually became expected.

I thought I did it to make other people’s lives easier. But in reality, I was looking for validation of my own self-worth from others. And I rarely got it.

Instead of self-confidence, I was left with resentment, anger and envy. And it was all my own fault.

I over-committed my time, energy and the space in my head to others, while leaving little time for me.

After decades of low self-worth and chronic overwork to avoid what I needed to do, I had a breakdown at 36 that pulled the rug from right under my feet

But it made me finally get the right help, and not be afraid to ask for it.

Thanks to my trauma therapist, psychotherapist and coaches, I learned to set healthy boundaries and put them into practice without worrying about what others thought of me.

And it was life-changing.

I broke away from friendships, clients and even work that wasn't  healthy for me, the things I should never have said yes to in the first place.

The worst scenarios never happened. The better ones did.

Boundaries brought me amazing friendships, incredible clients and a life I finally enjoyed instead of one I kept trying to escape from.

After my journey, I wanted to help others to create their better life too.

I've since worked with over 150 individuals and businesses combined to help them build a life or business that they desire and deserve, without feeling selfish or changing who they are.

I’m now a certified coach who helps others master healthy boundaries and make better decisions to live their life better. I’m also studying for my MSc Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health at King’s College London.

Blending what I learned through my own journey, 22 years as a process consultant, transformational coach and energy healing practitioner, I created the Personal Power Playbook to help people lift the blocks that hold them back from protecting their time and energy, with ongoing support from me and without the overwhelm.
